Our association “International Association of Krav Maga” is quickly becoming the MOST sought after Krav Maga Association in the world. We are free of politics and teach the MOST AUTHENTIC KRAV MAGA techniques as taught by the Israeli Defense Forces.
Gene Potocki is a certified Krav Maga Instructor under Professor Marty Cale who is head of the “International Association of Krav Maga” and a direct student under Ran Nakash, the former Chief Commander of the IDF. Ran Nakash is also the Technical Advisor for our association….it gets no better than this!
The association utilizes a ranking system that consists of six practitioner levels (P1 -6), two assistant instructor levels (AI 1 & 2) and six full instructor levels (FI 1 -6).
To achieve the optimum results of increased levels of fitness, awareness and confidence that are the benefits of training in Krav Maga it is recommended that the student train a minimum of two times per week. Currently the Hung Fa Kwoon of Arizona’s schedule offers two Krav Maga classes per week with the option of adding additional classes in the future as demand increases.

Regardless if you are new to the martial arts and fitness training the classes are structured so that everyone works at their own pace. Krav Maga is unique in that the classes are fast paced and help you improve your fitness level quickly. Our students have noted significant strides reaching their fitness, weight loss and overall health goals. Some people come to get fit, and get the added benefit of being able to protect themselves whilst others come to learn self defense and leave incredibly fit.
Because physical fitness is closely interwoven into the system, the workout includes a number of cardiovascular and strength building exercises, as well as stretching to increase flexibility. Emphasis is put on speed, endurance, strength, accuracy and coordination.
Students of Krav Maga use basic moves in various combinations to fend off violent attacks. This means that students adjust to new situations through improvisation, an important and unique feature of this style. Of course, this requires using the head as well as the body, and thus Krav Maga addresses the thought process as well as the physical action.
Improvisation also allows for limitations in physical abilities. Not everyone can bring his or her leg up to a 180-degree angle, and therefore the system is geared towards the average person. Students are taught a variety of possible defensive reactions for each possible attack situation, building upon an actual framework of useable techniques. They are then encouraged to utilize the responses that are appropriate to their capabilities. This allows the student to develop a sense of confidence in their abilities.
